Bruce Liptak

2009 U10 Head Coach

Bruce is a Level 4 certified USA Hockey coach, that has now been involved in coaching for 7 years at various levels.  Bruce has played amateur hockey for various Western Pennsylvania AA hockey teams as well as playing Junior hockey in different leagues (Steel City Stars, Pittsburgh Jr. Penguins, Somerset Chill, Cleveland Lumberjacks, etc).  His playing career ended playing at UMBC for their D2 Club team.  Shortly after college he joined the U.S. Army Active Duty with the 10th Mountain Division. 

Bruce started his coaching career as an assistant (defense / conditioning) coach with the 2007 – 2008 AAA Varsity Penguin Cup winners, Shaler Area Titans.  The following year he assisted the Titans to 3rd place in the High School National Tournament in Chicago, IL. More recently, Bruce has been coaching both as an assistant and head coach for the Chilled Ponds House League and Hampton Roads Whalers.

2009 U10 Associate Head Coach

   As a USA Hockey level 3 coach, Thomas has coached with Whaler Nation for 5 years as both an assistant and head coach.  Born in California it wasn't until his family moved to Indiana that he found hockey.  There he played youth and High School hockey until ultimately moving back to California.  As a father of four, he strives to not only to improve the players on the ice but off as well.
