“Conner is a Whaler through and through”, stated Whalers Owner Patrick Cavanagh.  “He has outworked his opponents, brought a National Championship to Hampton Roads and been a fantastic and dependable teammate. He has always represented the culture and expectations of Whaler Nation to the highest standard. I fully expect him to be an immediate force for Manhattenville whom Coach Marshall will value as we have with the Whalers”.

The Hampton Roads Jr. Whalers are proud to announce that 1998 forward Conner Hunt from Frisco, TX has committed to playing college hockey in 2019 for the Manhattanville College Valiant’s.

"It has been a pleasure to coach Conner these past few years", stated Whalers head coach Rod Taylor.  "He is the kind of kid that all coaches love to coach.  He is a someone I am proud to call a Whaler.  He works hard to improve his game every time he steps on the ice.  He is a solid offensive player and a go to guy when we really need to score. He is a great skater and a great all around team player.  Conner will truly be an asset to the club at Manhattanville".

“I came to the Whalers three years ago in search of a winning culture and this organization has brought that with much more”, stated Hunt. “I can’t thank Mr. Cavanagh enough for this opportunity he has opened up for me. I would also like to thank Coach Taylor.  He has immensely improved my game from the time that I got here, drilling in the mindset of not accepting failure and a never quit mentality. Being a part of the Whalers I have learned that I have created bonds here with my teammates that will last a lifetime calling them brothers. I wouldn’t have this opportunity without them. I am extremely grateful to be able to call Hampton Roads my home away from home and looking forward to starting a new chapter in Manhattanville”.

Manhattanville College is located in Harrison, NY and competes in the NCAA’s division 3 United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC)

Hunt becomes the Whalers 3rd commit of the 2018-19 season and joins Max Loga (Lebanon Valley), Cody Wilson (West Virginia), Brandon Osmundson (Utica), John Moncovich (Utica), and Jaxon Rutkowski (Utica) as committed Whalers.
