Whalers Soar to 4 Game Sweep Over Carolina

Saturday Elite 4-1 WIN

The Whalers suffocated the Eagles all night, keeping the Eagles to just 20 shots on net, while breaking the game open in period #2 en route to a 4-1 win.

DJ Randle scored twice, while Jorai Bart and Bryce Leger each notched one.  PJ Haas tallied 2 helpers, while James Rowe, Joari Bart, Cameron Sylvester, Matthew Scicchitano, Ruslan Abyanov, and Arun Cibrario each had 1.  Ross Jones made 19 saves in net for his 4th win.

The Whalers held a 29-20 shot on goal advantage.  Hampton Roads went 1 for 3 on the power play while Carolina was 1 for 4.

Saturday Premier 4-1 WIN

The Whalers Premier struggled on Saturday night to get things going, but persistence paid off, as the boys stuck with it and grinded out a 4-1 win.

Oliver Freden, Brandon Osmundson, Nolan Cavanagh, and Conner Hunt found the back of the net.  Brendan Borg, Thomas McGuire, Brandon Leitz, Matthew Hanchon, Oliver Freden, Brandon Osmundson, ad Nolan Cavanagh each tallied one helper. Alec Lindberg secured his league leading 9th win of the season in net with 22 saves.

The Whalers held a 49-23 shot on goal advantage.  Hampton Roads finished 0 for 2 on the power play while the Eagles were 1 for 2.

Sunday Elite 4-3 WIN

Sunday was a tough go for the Whalers Elite team.  After falling behind 2-0 just 4 minutes into the game, the Whalers rallied back with 4 straight goals en route to a 4-3 win.

Joe Polcaro scored a pair of power play goals, while Arun Cibrario and DJ Randle each had 1.  Mark Strazisar picked up 3 assists, with Bryce Leger notching 2, James Rowe and Ruslan Abyanov each picking up 1.  Ross Jones made 33 saves in net for his 4th win.

The Eagles held a 36-25 shot on goal advantage.  Hampton Roads went 2 for 6 on the power play while Carolina was 2 for 5.

Sunday Premier 1-0 WIN

On Sunday, the Whalers found their skating legs, but after scoring half way through the 1st period, the Whalers couldn’t solve Eagles goalie Dominic Rogrigue, who turned in a stellar performance with 46 saves.  Fortunately for the Whalers, Blake Bjella was perfect in his end, as the Whalers swept the weekend with a 1-0 win.

Oliver Freden scored the Whalers lone goal.  John Moncovich and Brandon Osmundson had the helpers.  Blake Bjella made 16 saves for his 8th win and 2nd shutout on the season.

The Whalers held a 47-16 shot on goal advantage.  Hampton Roads finished 1 for 7 on the power play while the Eagles were 0 for 5.
