Elite vs. Hartford Jr. Wolfpack 6-3 WIN

The Whalers Elite kicked off the weekend against the Hartford Jr. Wolfpack, the 3rd place team in the mid-Atlantic.  The Whalers got the jump less than 5 minutes in to take a 1-0 lead and would maintain that until giving up a shorthanded goal with just 1:17 left in the opening 25 minute half.  The Whalers would make up for that mistake quickly, as they connected on the power play with :37 seconds left in the period to lead 2-1 after the 1st half.  In the 2nd, the Whalers connected on another power play goal :26 seconds in to jump ahead 3-1.  The Wolfpack would battle back 8 minutes into the frame to make it 3-2 but again the Whalers responded right away to regain the 2 goal lead.  With 4:30 left, the Wolfpack would again cut the lead to one at 4-3, but for the 3rd time in the game, the Whalers countered just 16 seconds later to make it 5-3 and would tack on an empty netter for the 6-3 win.
