Squirt B Splits Weekend in MD

The Whaler Squirt B Team did not want to tie the Fury a third time this season. Collin Bair picked up the rebound from Cameron Knowlton shot and buried the puck in the net a mere 12 seconds into the first period. The young Whaler team looked quite mature as they aggressively played the puck and racked up a total of 23 shots on net.

Kristian Snoots and Ryan Grant each had several scoring chances but were denied the satisfaction of hitting the inside of the net.

Meanwhile, on the other end of the ice, the defense played an awesome game. Nick, Carson, Evan, and
Shane
each played with drive and determination to deny the Fury of getting scoring opportunities. Dalton Buchhardt was able to stop all 12 shots and earned his first shutout of the season.

As hard as the boys skated all game long, the game wasn’t sealed until the last 48 seconds of the game when Cameron was able to take the pass from Collin and secure the 2-0 victory for the Whalers.

The entire team showed up and was ready to fight for the victory today. Every member of the squad skated hard and aggressively pursued the puck. The Whaler team played their positions and made some great passes to generate several great goals scoring opportunities. What more could you ask for from a Squirt team when they played one of their best games of the season and were able to walk away with their heads held high and pride generated from a well fought victory. Not to mention the ice-cream the got for the win as well, they are still boys.

The Squirt team has a short rest tonight as they prepare to take on the Howard Huskies in the morning of January 30th.
