Whalers Osmundson Named USPHL Elite Offensive POW

The Hampton Roads Jr. Whalers are proud to announce that 1998 forward Brandon Osmundson has been named USPHL Elite Offensive Player of the Week for his performance this past weekend at the USPHL Winter Showcase in Marlborough, MA.

Osmundson (Chesapeake, VA), had a monster weekend in Boston, helping propel the Whalers Elite team to a perfect 4-0 record, and collecting all 8 points.  The 1998 forward tallied 5 goals and 10 assists in 4 games for the Whalers, including 1 power play goal and 1 power play assist.  Osmundson had a hat trick and 5 points Saturday against Bay State and 4 point efforts against the Detroit Fighting Irish and Rochester Monarchs.  His 53 assists not only lead the team, but also the USPHL Elite division, 5 more than the 2nd highest scorer.  In addition to ranking #1 overall in the league in assists, Osmundson ranks # in overall points with 76.  Osmundson also ranks #2 in the league in power play assists with 12 and #6 in the league in goals with 23.  

This is Osmundson’s 2nd time being honored as POW (September) and he is the 5th Whalers forward to earn the offensive player of the week honor, joining Billy Brock who received the honor in September, Roman Gaudet in December, and John Moncovich who took home the honor after the Florida Winter Showcase in Estero, FL.
