Squirt B, a Crossbar Away from a Tie

The Squirt B team played a hard fought game against the fourth place Hagerstown Bulldogs on Sunday. Cameron Knowlton got the scoring going early with an assist from Michael Fruci in the first by sneaking a shot past the Bulldog’s netminder from just inside the blue line. Collin Bair, Matthew Trach, Jack Felix and Ryan Grant fought hard keeping the puck in neutral ice and allowed the Whalers to have the most shots on goal for the season. The defensive team of Evan, Shane, Nick, and Carson did a superb job of clearing the puck and limited the Bulldogs to 31 shots on net. Dalton Buchardt had 29 saves, many of which would have made the highlight reel for any level of hockey. Kristian Snoots rang a backhand shot of the crossbar which would have tied the game midway through the third period. The young Whaler team skated hard and has come a long way as a team since August. The Whalers head into the holidays with some time to refine their skills before they square off for a rematch against the Hagerstown Bulldogs on January 8th at 1030AM in Hagerstown. Have a Happy Holiday Season, and LET’S GO WHALERS.
