Peewee's Finalist in Big Bear Tournament

The Peewee A team showed Coach Douglas and Coach Spiers that they could take their game to another level this weekend at the Big Bear Tournament hosted by Chilled Ponds.

The Whalers started off on the right note Friday night disposing of the Charlotte Checkers 6-0.  Saturday brought the Bay State Breakers and in a close match fell 4-3.

Saturday night the Whalers were back on track with a 7-2 victory over the Cape Fear Warriors.

In Sundays semi final match up the U-12 team were up against the Peninsula Prowl.  The team showed its grit after taking an early 3-1 lead hung on for a 4-3 win.  The win secured the Whalers for a spot in the championship and a rematch against the Bay State Breakers.

In a highly spirited final the Whalers kept it close. Down by one goal going into the third period the Whalers surrendered three early period goals but fought back with two goals late in the frame.  It was not enough  and the Whalers fell 6-4.
