Whalers Split with Jr. Blades

MET South Battles to a Split

The Hampton Roads Whalers MET South team split their weekend series with the Florida Jr. Blades at the Chilled Ponds.  In game one of the weekend the Whalers road a stellar goaltending performance from Dylan Snyder.  Snyder stopped 44 shots on 46 Jr. Blades attempts, including many key saves in the 3rd period.  Casey Moneer scored 2 goals, Mat Culcasi and Dylan Woods each had one.  In the assist department Jamie Lasher picked up 2 helpers,  Rick Loveless, Dylan Woods, an John Davies each had 1.  The Whalers were 0 for 10 on the power play while the Blades were 1 for 9.

Game two saw the Jr. Blades come out firing as they peppered Dylan Synder.  Snyder was again solid between the pipes, stopping 39 of 44 Jr. Blades shots.  This time the Blades pulled out a 5-3 win.  Scoring for the Whalers was Mat Culcasi, Matt Gross, and Cody Pessig.  Picking up assists was Chris Radague and Matt Gross.  The Whalers were 1 for 8 on the power play, the Blades were 2 for 7.
