Whalers U16A Name Captains and Assistants
Shawn Rose named Captain, assistants are Tyler Snoots, and Mitch Shelton
Head Coach Joe Mastropasqua announced Shawn Rose will serve as team Captain for the 2010-11 season. He also announced Tyler Snoots and Mitch Shelton will serve as assistant captains.
"These three give us great opportunity to cultivate some of that leadership going forward and the team has strong voices, so our group has not only great voices, but great examples to follow on a day-to-day basis." Said Associate Head Coach Keith Carroll
Carroll said he expects all three captains to be leaders at home, away, and every practice.
"We expect everybody to step up when their opportunity is called to set a good example for our club. Leadership is about leaving it all on the Ice. This is a core tenet of leadership, and it's ingrained in the culture of each player that wears a letter on their jerseys" he said.

"Captaincy is built on clearly articulated values meant to serve the greater good and elevate service above self. Good leaders put their mission and their people ahead of their own self-interest; this is why you can go to any rink with any team and find the captains play as the most inspiring to team-mates and spectator’s alike" he said.
"These three have gained the trust of the coaches and more importantly their peers through their actions" he said.
The announcement was made Monday October 4th at the Chilled Ponds Ice rink in Chesapeake, the team's official practice facility" he said.
