2023-24 Travel Season Preview: U10 Minor

Over the next 2 months we will run a 9 part Season Preview series to highlight the 9 Hampton Roads Whalers Travel Teams and the upcoming 2023-2024 hockey season.  This week, we start with the U10 Minor team.

The U10 Minor team will be coached by Thomas Rossiter for the 2023-2024 season.  Thomas is returning to the area, and coming back from a coaching hiatus, having previously coached U12 & assisted for many years. He's oldest daughter Taylor played for the Whalers and his 2nd oldest Teddy is a member of the Whalers U14AA team.

“I look forward to getting back at it and helping the kids grow into great teammates & better players, stated Rossiter”.

The Whalers U10 Minor team will play at the Lower A level in the CBHL and is a mixed birth year team made up of 11 2014's and 5 2013 birth year players. 

Returning Whalers include Liam Phillips, Luke Woodward, and Easton Farhenbach.  Whalers Mite Travel players making their U10 debut, include Ryder Alband, Landon Bothel, Jackson Norkeveck, Easton Morgan, Tommy Rossiter, Luke McGhee, Ryland Taroli, Jason Jehoich, and Dag Leutcherath. The team is happy to introduce some new players to the Whalers travel program, including Shane Boze, Jackson Masterson, Weston Lindauer, and Colin Hartzell. 

The Whalers had a strong opening weekend at the CCM Showcase at the Prince William Ice Center, finishing the weekend with a 2-1 record including wins over the Potomac Patriots and Piedmont Predators with their only set back coming at the hands of the tournament champion Western Maryland Warriors.

Coach Thomas is committed to developing this core group of players to play at a high level for years to come. Building on the foundation of skill & effort, with a focus on culture & environment, the 10U Minor Travel Team looks forward to being a competitive team in the CBHL.
