The 22-23 season will feature 44 regular season games. The 4 main stay South division opponents will remain on calendar (Charlotte, Carolina, Potomac, & Richmond) and will also feature games against expansion teams (Columbia & Nashville) as well as a home and home series with Mid-Atlantic division foe the Jersey Hitmen.
12 of the 44 games will be played at 3 different USPHL showcases, giving the players a chance to play in front of NCAA & ACHA scouts to showcase their talents. The Whalers will play host to the 1st showcase event, the 2022 USPHL South Hampton Roads Showcase, taking place September 22nd-26th at the Chilled Ponds. The 2nd event will be a newly attended event for the Whalers, the USPHL Rockets Showcase, hosted by the New Jersey Rockets, taking place October 7th-10th at the Bridgewater Sports Arena. The 3rd and final showcase event, the USPHL Florida Showcase hosted by the Florida Jr. Blades, will take place December 16th-19th at Hertz Arena in Estero, FL.
