Whalers Yasinski Commits to Iowa State

The Hampton Roads Jr. Whalers are proud to announce that 1997 goaltender Everett Yasinski from Seattle, WA has committed to playing college hockey in 2018 for the Iowa State Cyclones.

 Yasinski, in his second season, has posted a record of 13-2-1-0 with a 2.78 GAA, .894 save % and 2 shutouts on the campaign.  Last season, Yasinski led the Whalers with a record of 15-5-0-3 with a 2.53 GAA and .915 save %, while earning USPHL All-Star honors.

“I am extremely proud of Yaz”, stated Head Coach Brad Jones.  “He is a student of the game.  His work ethic, attention to detail, and pride in his game are second to none.  I look forward to watching him flourish at ISU.”

"The past two years I have spent with the Hampton Roads Whalers have been indescribably formative for my career", stated Yasinski. "The Whalers are truly a professionally run organization, and they afforded me every opportunity to succeed. Coach Jones is a very knowledgeable and down to earth coach who made me feel apart of the Whalers family. It has been a great pleasure and a very rewarding experience playing for Coach Jones, Coach Rodriguez, and their championship culture."

Iowa State is located in Ames, IA and competes in the ACHA's Central States Collegiate Hockey League (CSCHL)

Yasinski becomes the Whalers 4th commit of the 2017-18 season joining Sean Dickson (Utica), Brandon Osmundson (Utica), and John Moncovich (Uitca).
