10 Whalers Receive USPHL All-Star Honors

The Hampton Roads Jr. Whalers are proud to announce that a combined 10 players from the USP3 and Elite teams have been honored as USPHL All-Star's for the 2016-17 season.

Sean Dickson- Elite All Star

1st year Whaler Sean Dickson has burst onto the scene this season and taken the league by strong.  Dickson has posted a record of 19-2-2-0 on the season with a 1.50 GAA and .921 save% with 8 shutouts.  Dickson leads the league in both wins and shutouts, sits 4th in GAA and 17th in save%.  Dickson’s play has led to him being affiliated by the Minnesota Wilderness of the NAHL.

Billy Brock- Elite All Star

Veteran Whalers forward Billy Brock receives all star honors this season with 64 points on 25 goals and 39 assists on the season along with 8 power play goals, 7 power play assists, 2 shorthanded goals, 3 shorthanded assists, and 5 game winning goals.  Brock sits 3rd on the team in scoring and 4th in the league.  Additionally, Brock is 9th in the league in goals, 4th in assists, 3rd in shorthanded goals, 2nd in shorthanded assists,  and 5th in game winning goals.

Brandon Osmundson- Elite All Star

Born and raised Whalers product Brandon Osmundson has made his name known in his first season with the Elite team on the heels of a huge year with the USP3 squad.  Osmundson leads both the team and the USPHL in both points (79) and assists (55) on top of posting 24 goals which ranks 8th in the league.  Osmundson has also tallied 5 power play goals 13 power play assists, 1 shorthanded goal, 3 shorthanded assists and 1 game winning goal.  His 13 power play assists ranks him 3rd in the league while his 3 shorthanded assists ranks 2nd. 

John Moncovich- Elite All Star

Forward John Moncovich has grown leaps and bounds in his 3rd season with the Whalers.  On the heels of leading the USP3 division in goals, Moncovich has picked right up where he left off last season, leading the team and the Elite division in goals with 46.  John’s 72 points ranks him 2nd in the league behind only Osmundson.  Moncovich has tallied 8 power play goals, 7 power play assists, 1 shorthanded assist, and a league leading 9 game winning goals.  For his efforts, John has been tendered by the Corpus Christi Icerays of the NAHL for the 2017-18 season.

Vaden McManus- Elite All Star

Whalers veteran defenseman Vaden McManus leads all Whalers defenseman in scoring and sits 7th on the team with 40 points.  McManus has notched 9 goals and 31 assists on the campaign along with 4 power play goals, 9 power play assists, 1 shorthanded assist, and 1 game winning goal.  Vaden’s 9 power play assists ranks him 7th in the league.  For his efforts, Vaden has earned a NCAA commitment to Utica College for next season.

Brendon Zack- Elite All Star

Right on McManus’s heels sits Whalers captain Brendon Zack.  The veteran rearguard has tallied 39 points on the season which ranks him 2nd among defenseman on the team and 8th overall.  Zack has posted 14 goals and 25 assists on the campaign to go along with 5 power play goals, 10 power play assists, 1 shorthanded goal and 5 game winning goals.  Zack’s 10 power play assists ranks him 6th in the league while his 5 game winning goals ranks him 5th in the league.

Gary Eastlack- USP3 All Star

After a 33 point rookie campaign, the Whalers USP3 co-captain has broken out in his 2nd season in Hampton Roads.  Eastlack leads the team in scoring with 28 goals and 26 assists for 54 points including 7 power play goals, 7 power play assists, and 5 game winning goals.  Eastlack sits 13th in the USP3 in points, 7th in goals, 5th in power play goals, and 4th in game winning goals.

Max Loga- USP3 All Star

Loga, the rookie Whalers forward, sits 2nd on the team with 49 points on 21 goals and 28 assists along with 6 power play goals, 6 power play assists, 4 shorthanded goals, 1 shorthanded assist, and 3 game winning goals.  Loga is 14th in the league in points, 6th in power play goals, 4th in shorthanded goals, and 6th in game winning goals.

Matthew Hanchon- USP3 All Star

Another rookie forward, Matthew Hanchon sits 3rd on the team in scoring with 43 points on 17 goals and 26 assists.  Hanchon has 6 power play goals and leads the team with 11 power play assists.  Additionally, Hanchon has posted 2 shorthanded goals and 3 game winning goals.  Hanchon sits 6th in the league in power play and shorthanded goals and 7th in power play assists.

Everett Yasinski- USP3 All Star

Veteran goaltender Everett Yasinski has had a strong 1st season in Hampton Roads.  Yasinski has a record of 13-5-0-3 on the season with a 2.61 GAA and .916 save% along with 2 shutouts.  Yasinski leads the team in wins and sits 5th in the league and 4th in the Southern Conference in that category.  His 12th in the South in save % and 6th in the league in shutouts.
