#1 Hampton Roads vs. #2 Richmond Generals

The #1 Hampton Roads Jr. Whalers Elite squad rolls into round 2 of the 2014-15 USPHL Playoff's with a best of 3, round 2 series with the #2 ranked Richmond Generals Feb 27-Mar 1 at the Chilled Ponds in the heated I-64 rivalry.

The Whalers come into the series having knocked out the East Coast Eagles in Round 1, 2 games to 1 after a huge 7-1 victory in the deciding game 3.

The Whalers were lead offensively in round 1 by Graham Winship and Griffin Leach who each notched 2 goals in the series. Leading scorer TJ Sneath tallied 3 assists while 4 other Whalers tallied 2 apiece. On the back end, veteran defenseman and team captain Ryan Webber lead the charge with 1 goal and 1 assist, while Stockholm, Sweden native Oliver Lindstrom scored the game opening goal in the deciding game 3.  Between the pipes, veteran netminder Blake Scott went 2-1 with a 1.67 GAA and a .932 Save%, making 69 saves in the 3 game series.

The Generals roll into round 2 after a 2-0 series sweep over the Potomac Patriots in round 1.  Richmond checks in at 22-15-0-3 on the season, good for 47 points and sit in 5th in the USPHL Southern Conference.

The Generals were lead offensively by Chad Lopez (25 pts), Cameron Durham (22), and Blue Hayler (20). On the back end, defenseman Jack Zielinski leads the charge with 21 points.  In goal, Richmond relies on Max Barr (11-7-0-1, 2.50 GAA, .918 Save%, 3 S.O.) and Tucker Murphy (8-6-0-1, 2.47 GAA, .923 Save%, 2 S.O.)

In round 1, Blue Hayler lead the Generals charge with 5 points, while Michael Lopez and Vincent Currao each tallied 4.  Tucker Murphy went 2-0 in net with a 1.50 GAA and .957 Save%.

The Whalers lead the season series 6-2 over the Generals.
