Buffalo State's Ryan Salkeld (Virginia Beach, VA/Churchland) and Jason Zaleski (Scranton, PA/Scranton) were named the SUNYAC men's Hockey Player and Rookie of the Week respectively after pacing the Bengals to a 5-3 victory over Johnson & Wales.

Salkeld, a junior business major, had a hand in the first four goals of the game against the Wildcats on Saturday, scoring twice and assisting on two others. Salkeld leads the Bengals with 11 points in 11 games, including five goals and six assists.

Salkeld has additionally been named Buffalo State Athlete of Week.

Zaleski, a freshman business major, scored three times against the Wildcats. He is second on the team in scoring with nine points on five goals and four assists after his first collegiate hat trick.

The Bengals (3-6-2, 2-4-2 SUNYAC) return to action on Friday, Jan. 2 at 4 p.m. against Neumann University for the first round of the Norwich Tournament.
