Jr. Whalers take 3 of 4 from Eagles

Saturday 4-2 WIN

A balanced offensive attack peppered 38 shots on the Eagles net Saturday night, and 4 different goal scorers lead the Whalers to a 4-2 win.

Regen Cavanagh, Kody Rodriguez, Griffin Leach, and TJ Sneath all scored for the Whalers.  Leach, Jacob Gerson, Dominic Moore, and Ryan Webber all tallied assists for the Whalers.  Blake Scott took the win in net with 25 saves.  The Whalers finished with 75 minutes on 20 infractions while the Eagles tallied 54 minutes on 15 infractions.

The Whalers went 0 for 1 on the PP, The Eagles went 1 for 1.

Sunday 6-0 WIN

Goaltender Sean Tannenbaum made 34 saves for his first victory and shutout for the blue and green Sunday afternoon to lead the Whalers to a 6-0 victory.

Trevor Voelker, Jacob Gerson, Regen Cavanagh, Kody Rodriguez, and TJ Sneath (2) all scored for the Whalers.  Cavanagh (2), Sneath, Voelker, Griffin Leach (2), Craig Boyd, and Graham Winship all tallied assists.

The Whalers outshot East Coast 38-24 in a penalty filled affair.  The Eagles went 0 for 8 on the PP, the Whalers 0 for 2.  Vaden McManus was ejected for East Coast, Nate Richards and Coach Taylor were ejected for the Whalers.

Empire

Saturday 4-0 Loss

A slow start doomed the Whalers Saturday night, as they allowed 2 goals in the first 4 minutes of the game, and trailed 2-0 for most of the night.  The Eagles would tally an empty net goal with just over a minute to go to seal the game.

JT Ketzenberger made 38 saves in a losing effort in goal for the Whalers.  The Whalers finish 0 for 11 on the PP while the Eagles were 0 for 8.

Ty Ayers and Zach McDaniel were ejected for Hampton Roads. Coach Farkas was ejected for East Coast.

Sunday 2-0 WIN

The Whalers and Eagles played 40 minutes of scoreless hockey on Sunday before Anton Nikitin broke the tie just 1:30 into the 3rd period on the powerplay to lead the Whalers.

Nikitin would tally his 2nd goal of the night at 10:43, finishing off a great effort from Brandon Osmundson to extend it to 2-0.  Travis Volmert and Alex Ouellet tallied assists for the Whalers.

JT Ketzenberger picked up the win and his 3rd shutout of the season in goal with 26 saves.  The Whalers went 1 for 3 on the PP while the Eagles were 0 for 3.

What's on Tap?

After 3 straight road trips the Jr. Whalers will enjoy some downtime for the Thanksgiving holiday before welcoming in the Richmond Generals December 6th and 7th at the Chilled Ponds.
