Cavanagh Drafted by Des Moines in USHL Draft

The Hampton Roads Jr. Whalers are proud to announce that 1997 forward and Chesapeake, VA native Regen Cavanagh has been drafted by the Des Moines Buccaneers in the 18th round, 283rd overall in the USHL draft.  Cavanagh just completed his second junior season with the Whalers, his first with the Elite team.  In 2012-13 Cavanagh tallied 16 goals and 16 assists in 32 games for the Whalers Empire team.  In 2013-14 he tallied 7 goals and 12 assists for 19 points in 32 games for the Elite squad, as well as 8 assists in the Whalers run to the USPHL final four in Boston.

Cavanagh will attend the USPHL Spring Showcase in Boston this weekend with the Whalers, and attend camp with the Buccaneers in June.
