Gullett Commits to NEC

The Hampton Roads Jr. Whalers are proud to announce that 1993, 5'9, 175lb, Boulder, CO native Ryan Gullett has committed to play NCAA hockey for New England College in the fall.  The 3rd year Jr. Whaler racked up 4 goals and 9 assists for 13 points in 40 games for the Whalers this season.  Gullett excelled as one of the teams top defensive centers, penalty killers, and face-off men.

"I couldn't be more proud of Ryan", stated coach Brad Jones.  "I've watched his game grow and develop since his first year with the Whalers, to see it pay off with his commitment to NEC is rewarding. Coach Carroll and the Pilgrim hockey program is getting a great student/athelete."

New England College is located in Henniker, NH and competes in the ECAC.  Gullett will join former Whalers teammates Brett Kilar and Scott Cornfiled on the Pilgrims roster inthe fall. 

Gullett becomes the Whalers 5th committment from the 13-14 team, joining Alex Brissette (Utica), Sam Jenkins (Southern New Hampshire), Cody Pessig (Lebanon Valley), and Chase Wilson (Lebanon Valley).  The Whalers anticipate commitment announcments in the near future for both Buddy Naber and Sean Carpenter.
