Whalers Captain Brissette Commits to Utica

The Hampton Roads Jr. Whalers are proud to announce that 1993 birth year forward and Elite team captain Alex Brissette (Danbury, CT), has committed to play NCAA college hockey for the Utica College Pioneers.

Standing 6'0, 190lbs, Brissette will bring major offensive punch to the Pioneers line-up.  This season, his 2nd with the Whalers, Brissette posted 28 goals and 40 assists, good for 68 points in 40 games, finishing 2nd overall in league scoring.  The Whalers captain also posted 10 points in the Whalers run to the Elite final four in Boston.  In his first season with the Whalers, Brissette posted 19 goals and 36 assists for 55 points in 40 games.  Brissette was named to the USPHL Elite All-Star team.

"The Whalers organization is proud of the commitment to excellence Alex has shown both on and off the ice", stated Head Coach/GM Patrick Cavanagh.  "He has earned every accolade he has recieved to date through hard work and focus.  The opportunity to play for the prestigous Utica Pioneers under Coach Heenan's direction is beyond words.  I look forward to watching Alex continue his atheletic/scholastic journey as a Pioneer."

Utica College is located in Utica, NY and competes in the ECAC West conference.
