Jenkins Commits to SNHU

Dartmouth, MA product will join Penmen in the fall.....

The Hampton Roads Jr. Whalers are proud to announce that veteran 1993 Elite defenseman Sam Jenkins, from Dartmouth, MA has committed to play NCAA hockey for the Southern New Hampshire University Penmen in the fall.  Jenkins, who stands 6'0, 175 lbs has become known for his hard shot and big hits while patrolling the blueline for the Whalers.

Now in his second season with Hampton Roads, Jenkins tallied 10 goals and 8 assists in 38 regular season games, and 3 goals in 8 post season contests after posting 6 goals and 10 assists with the Whalers Empire team last season. 

"Sam was a big part of our d-core this season and he has worked extremely hard for this opportunity, stated assistant coach JJ Crew, I look forward to watching him grow his game at the next level".

"I am proud of all Sam has accomplished in his time with the Whalers", stated Head Coach/GM Patrick Cavanagh.  "I look forward to watching Sam excel at the next level."

Southern New Hampshire University is located in Manchester, NH.  The Penmen compete in the Northeast 10 conference.  SNHU is the defending Northeast 10 Champions.
